The trail is accessible from multiple trailheads, including the South Willamette Street Trailhead

Horse Creek Lodge and Outfitters
Horse Creek Lodge & Outfitters, located in McKenzie Bridge approximately 50 miles east of Eugene, Oregon, offers year-round rustic cabins and a campground nestled in the Willamette National Forest, along with guided rafting tours, mountain bike rentals, and shuttle services for outdoor adventures on the McKenzie River Trail.

Clear Lake
With pristine surroundings Clear Lake approximately 86 miles northeast of Eugene, is a pristine mountain lake formed about 3,000 years ago when lava flows from the Sand Mountain Volcanic Field dammed the McKenzie River, resulting in exceptionally clear waters that preserve a submerged ancient forest visible beneath its surface.

Sahalie Falls Viewpoint
Situated within the Willamette National Forest, the falls are approximately 34 miles west of Sisters and just half a mile upstream from Koosah Falls, making them a popular stop along the McKenzie River National Recreation Trail.

Terwilliger Hot Springs Trail
These springs are nature’s retreat, they are a short and easy 0.4-mile hike through the Willamette National Forest that leads to a series of four cascading, clothing-optional geothermal pools ranging in temperature from 85°F to 112°F, offering a serene soaking experience amidst lush forest scenery

Portland Japanese Garden
Be transported. The Portland Japanese Garden, located 2 hours north, is situated within Washington Park in Portland, Oregon, spans 12.5 acres and is acclaimed as one of the most authentic Japanese gardens outside of Japan. The garden was designed by Professor Takuma Tono of Tokyo Agricultural University.

Coos Bay
Get a taste of Oregon’s majestic coastline, Coos Bay is the largest city on the state’s coast, known for its rich maritime and timber history, and serves as a gateway to outdoor adventures like hiking, camping, and exploring the nearby Oregon Dunes. It is located approximately 108 miles southwest of Eugene

This beloved ice cream shop is close by and has been serving handcrafted, locally sourced ice cream that includes over 40 flavors including favorites like Muddy River and the “Obama” Mint Chip, named after a visit from the Obamas in 2008.

The store offers a wide selection of organic produce, sourced from nearly 20 local farms, and has maintained an all-organic produce department for over 25 years.

Market of Choice
This grocery store is my favorite one to go to and just a mile from our property. The store features a variety of departments, including bakery, barista, beer & wine, bulk foods, catering, coffee & tea, floral, home & gift, kitchen, meat & seafood, produce, and specialty cheese.

Albertson’s
This grocery store is just half a mile and walking distance from our property. It offers a full-service grocery experience with extended hours from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily . Each store provides a range of services such as DriveUp & Go™, grocery delivery, pharmacy, bakery, deli, floral arrangements, and floral design services .

Whole Foods
It is a full-service grocery store offering a wide selection of natural and organic products, including locally sourced produce, sustainable seafood, and high-quality meats, complemented by an in-house bakery, hot and salad bars, and a variety of dining options such as The Last Leg beer and pizza bar, Eugene Sandwich, and Kikka Sushi.

King Estate Winery

Amazon Park
It is a 40-acre community hub offering a diverse range of recreational amenities, including sports fields, basketball and tennis courts, a skatepark, a 3-acre off-leash dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs, a community garden, exercise stations, and a looped path for walking and biking. This park is just a few blocks away from our property.

Amazon Pool
It’s a seasonal outdoor aquatic facility open from May through October, featuring three pools—including a 50-meter lap pool, a multi-purpose pool with interactive play features, and a beginner pool—along with two water slides, a diving platform, hot tub, sandbox area, and concessions, providing a family-friendly environment for recreational swimming, swim lessons, and special events.

Crater Lake National Park
It features the deepest lake in the United States, formed in a volcanic caldera, renowned for its stunningly clear blue water, dramatic cliffs, and diverse hiking trails that showcase breathtaking views and unique volcanic landscapes.

Alton Baker Park
Just a stones throw away from Autzen Stadium. It spans 400 acres along the Willamette River, offering a diverse range of recreational amenities including Pre’s Trail, a 4-mile running path named after Olympic runner Steve Prefontaine; the Cuthbert Amphitheater for outdoor performances; the Eugene Science Center; a disc golf course; BMX track; canoe canal; off-leash dog park; and the Whilamut Natural Area.

Hendricks Park
It was established in 1906 as Eugene’s oldest city park, spans approximately 78–80 acres and features a renowned 12-acre Rhododendron Garden, a Native Plant Garden, and a mature Douglas-fir forest with hiking trails, offering a tranquil natural retreat within the city.

Skinner Butte Lookout
It’s a prominent hill offering panoramic views of downtown Eugene, the Willamette River, and the surrounding valley, accessible via a short hike or drive, and featuring historical landmarks such as the Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson House and the iconic “O” emblem representing the University of Oregon.
